In the beginning the level of renewable resources in the MISO footprint was nearly non-existent, but since 2005 renewable resources have grown at a rate of about 1.5GW per year. The growth of historically wind, and the increasing growth of solar has presented many challenges that MISO has proactively studied to best understand the impacts of.
